Title: Confessions Interrupted
Fandom: Dragon Age Inquisition
Pairing: Female Cadash/Cassandra
Rating: G
Prompt: #100|#041 - interrupt
Word count: 1000
Summary: Malika is ready to confess her feelings for Cassandra. If only her friends can stop getting in the way.

That was it, she finally decided. She was going to confess her love for Cassandra. It was about time, she figured, to do something about all this unresolved tension between them, and her mother didn’t raise a coward. Malika would talk to Cassandra at the first opportunity.

---

“Cassandra?” Malika asked, entering Cassandra’s office. “Do you have a moment for us to talk?”

Cassandra looked up from her desk. “Of course, what do you want, Inquisitor?”

“About that, do you think there’s any chance you can call me by my name? I have one, you know, even though no one around here seems to want to use it.”

“I’m not sure this would be appropriate.”

“Don’t be silly! How long ago have you told me to call you Cassandra? It’s only fair that we treat each other the same way. Please, I would love for you to call me Malika.”

“Inquisitor Malika, would that be all?”

“I suppose that’s process, although just Malika would be fine. And no, actually, there’s something else I would like to talk to you about. You see, Cassandra, the thing is…”

“Inquisitor!” Josephine called, coming through the door. “We need you immediately at the War Room.”

Malika sighed. “We’ll talk later, Cassandra.”

---

The first attempt didn’t work out too well, but Malika wasn’t one to give up that easily. Next time she saw Cassandra, Cassandra was training.

“Cassandra! I’m glad to see you, because we didn’t have a chance to talk since last week. That was one intense mission, wasn’t it?”

“I suppose, although no worse than others we had before. Do you need anything from me?”

“Well, that’s not exactly the right way to put it. There’s something I wanted to tell you, actually. Something I wanted to tell you for a long time, but it’s hard to get an opportunity. It seems like we never have time to do anything other than to train or do missions.”

“We have time now, what did you want to tell me?”

“Cassandra, since the first time I saw you, I knew you would change my life forever, but I didn’t know how. And now I do. You see, I’m in…”

“Inquisitor!” Cullen yelled, running in their direction.

Malika closed her eyes, and cursed under her breath. “Let me guess, it’s an emergency and you need me right now.”

---

This time, she was prepared. She tracked down Josephine, Cullen, and Leliana, and asked them to check if there was anything that demanded her attention. Normally, she would try to avoid them for as long as possible, as she hated the responsibilities that came with her job, but now, she wanted to make sure they wouldn’t have any reason to interrupt her with Cassandra again. All she wanted was an opportunity to talk to Cassandra for maybe five minutes without being interrupted, just that, and if that meant she would have to stop avoiding her work for a day before she had the opportunity, then that’s what she would do.

Cassandra was training again, she seemed to always be training, and this time Malika wouldn’t miss the opportunity.

“Cassandra, I have something important to say, and I won’t allow another day to do by without me talking to you. You are a wonderful person and I…”

“Inquisitor! I’ve just received information of an attempted assassination of one of our allies, you need to go immediately, the situation is dire,” Leliana said, appearing out of nowhere with a letter in her hand.

Cassandra didn’t even sigh, she just stared into the distance. Something was surely conspiring against her, but that didn’t mean she was about to give up, even though she couldn’t simply ignore a credible threat.

“Fine, I’ll go, it’s not as if I had anything else to do anyway. But Cassandra, we have to talk when I get back.”

---

She tried again, and again, and again, to the point she was convinced that her friends was deliberately trying to keep her from confessing her feelings. This was beginning to get ridiculous, and she honestly didn’t know what she could possibly do to get a few minutes alone with Cassandra. The funny part was, she had some free time, and she managed to spend a lot of it with friends, it was just that, whenever she tried to use that time to talk to Cassandra, one thing or another happened, and then she had to run for a new mission that would take several days at least, or then a noble or some other allegedly important person would come along demanding an audience with her, or the troops would come back with someone who was captured for her to judge. Life wasn’t easy for the Inquisitor.

---

They were around the War Table, discussing some important plans or something like that. Malika wasn’t entirely sure, she had been distracted for a while now, thinking about Cassandra. The way she was when she was in that room, so sure of herself, so focused, it was hard not to love her even more.

“As you see, Inquisitor, our scouts brought back enough information for us to determinate the lay of the land as well as the position of enemy troops, so I would suggest we go forward with the initial plan, now that we can confirm the probability of success. What do you think, Inquisitor?” Leliana said.

Malika looked across the table. “Cassandra, I love you, I’m in love with you and I can’t wait another day to tell you are the most amazing woman I have ever met.”

Cassandra turned bright red, and the others turned around to look at each other.

“Uh, Inquisitor?” Josephine asked. “The plans?”

Malika shook her head, as if waking up from under a spell. “The plans, yeah, sure. The initial plan sounds good, whatever that was, I trust you all made excellent choices. And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go find a huge hole to hide myself in for the rest of my life.”

Title: Mistress of Mischief
Fandom: Avengers Academy
Pairing: Natasha/Lady Loki
Rating: G
Prompt: #100|#042 - weather
Word count: 1000
Summary: Loki is afraid that people will suspect her change is part of a scheme, and Natasha is there to support her.
Note: Loki is canonically genderfluid, and this is a tag for her storyline during the A Force event. During that storyline and this story, she identifies and presents as female and is recognized as such by all other characters.

Loki flinched when she heard the thunder, hoping a storm wasn’t on its way. She hated thunderstorms, they were always a reminder of her brother, and now more than ever she didn’t want to think of Thor, the brother or the sister, much less what it meant that there were two of Thor now, as if one wasn’t enough.

She was so focused on what she didn’t want to think about that, at first, she didn’t notice someone entering her room.

“Hey, Loki, how are you doing?” Natasha called from the door.

Loki nearly jumped out of her skin. “What are you doing here, Widow Woman?”

Natasha rolled her eyes. “I can go wherever I please. And you know you can call me Nat, right? I know you don’t really forget people’s names.”

Loki gave a faint smirk at that. “Oh, but then what would happen to my reputation?”

“I won’t tell if you won’t.”

“Fine, Nat, why don’t you tell me what you’re really doing here?”

Natasha pointed at the window. “I know you don’t like storms, I thought I would come and check up on you.”

Loki made her best to look annoyed. “I don’t need anyone checking up on me!”

Natasha shrugged, and sat on Loki’s bed. “I know, I still wanted to check. You have a lot going on right now.”

“Oh, not you too. I’ve said it a million times already, I still remember how to be a girl, even if it has been a while, and I won’t fall from my heels.”

Natasha raised an eyebrow, amused. “I meant Thor being released from the time fog, and then the other Thor showing up. It can’t be easy suddenly having your brother back, and now you have a sister too.”

“Two sisters, although I like Aldrif better than either Thor. Angela, that is, like she is calling herself now. Two Thors and two sisters, this has been quite a month.”

“Think about it this way, now you have even more people to tease.”

Loki smiled, but there was a sadness to it. She sat by Natasha’s side on the bed, but not too close. “Why are you really here?”

Natasha rolled her eyes. “I told you already, I wanted to see how you were doing. Is it so hard to believe someone would worry about you?”

“I don’t know, maybe. Why do you even care?”

“Because you’re my friend when you aren’t too busy being a jerk. And because I knew you wouldn’t tell anyone if you weren’t ok. You like to make a lot of noise, but you don’t talk about the stuff that really bothers you.”

“You are better at reading people than I gave you credit for.”

Natasha smiled. “It’s part of being a spy. Now spill, what’s on your mind?”

“It’s just… well, you know everybody better than I do so maybe you would know, I guess you already proven you are good at finding things out. Do you suppose they think I’m doing this, changing like this, to, I don’t know, steal the spotlight or maybe distract everyone while I plot something evil?”

Natasha placed a comforting hand on her knee. “Why would they think that? I would assume they know you better than this by now.”

Loki sighed, and tossed herself back, hitting the wall and slouching on the bed. “I very much doubt that.”

“Maybe you like pranking and plotting a little too much, but you’re far from being a villain, you’ve already helped the Academy more than once, they must recognize that. So why would they think that about you?”

“I don’t know why, but I’ve already been accused of plotting something, and I don’t know what I can possibly say to defend myself. I can’t explain why I’m a woman now any more than I could explain why I was a man last month, I’m just me, always, and sometimes how I feel changes, but I don’t know why. Maybe it has something to do with my sisters’ arrival, or maybe it doesn’t. All I know is that I’m not trying to bring attention to myself, not like this, and I’m not plotting anything, but I can’t defend myself if I can’t prove they’re wrong.” She didn’t mean to say all of that, but Natasha was always easier to talk to than most other people there.

“Then don’t.”

“What?”

“Just… don’t defend yourself. It’s none of their business anyway, and just because you’re scheming all the time that doesn’t give them the right to assume you’re scheming now. If you say you’re a girl now, then you’re a girl and that’s all they need to know. How about this, if anyone gives you a hard time, we can plot something against them. After all,” Natasha winked, “you still are the mistress of mischief, aren’t you?”

Loki laughed. “Always, and I do love a good prank.” Then, in a more serious tone, “Why are you doing this? Helping me?”

“I told you, you’re my friend. Even if you can be a pain in the ass sometimes, and get in the way of my plans more than you help, and be childish, and…”

“Ok, ok, I get it,” she laughed, her bad mood mostly gone by now.

“Do you wanna go to Club A? I’m pretty sure I still owe you a dance competition,” Natasha said standing up.

Loki’s face lit up, and she jumped off the bed. “Are you serious? I’ll have you know that I am much better dancer with heels.”

Natasha laughed. “That I’ll only believe when I see it.”

They walked towards the door when Natasha stopped. “Oh, and before I forget,” she said, giving Loki a peck on the cheek.

Loki froze, blushing, and held a hand to where Natasha’s lips had been. “Why did you do that?”

Natasha shrugged. “To cheer you up, because you look cute when you’re honest, just because I felt like it. Wanna follow me and find out?”

Title: Valentine’s Day
Fandom: Supergirl
Pairing: Alex Danvers/Maggie Sawyer
Rating: G
Prompt: #100|#046 - valentine
Word count: 1000
Summary: Alex plans a Valentine’s Day dinner, and panics about it.
Notes: written before 2x13 and non canon compliant.

For the first time in her life, she didn’t dread the approach of Valentine’s Day. She didn’t even remember how old she was the first time she began hating the whole ordeal, but it probably happened while she was still a child. Then Kara came along and she could use the excuse of being too busy helping her acclimate to have time to concentrate on boys and valentines. Now if only she had known then that the ‘boys’ part was the issue, not the ‘valentines’.

Every year, this date had been just a reminder of how failed she was when it came to romantic relationships. More often than not, she wouldn’t be seeing anyone around the time, and would much rather stay home with her sister, eating ice cream and watching romantic movies while they talked about not having boyfriends.

Now, for the first time, she was in a happy and satisfying relationship, and as silly as it seemed for a grown woman to be glad she had a valentine, it was one more of those things she never had the opportunity to do before, and she was all about making up for the lost time. She lost so many opportunities because she didn’t know herself, and now she didn’t want to lose anymore, and Maggie was there to support her wanting to experience everything that she missed.

Still, she might have gone a bit overboard this time. She couldn’t decide between flowers - and if so, which flowers -, a card - and which card? So many options, both gender-neutral and lesbian valentine cards, which she didn’t even know was a thing -, a stuffed animal - again, so many options -, a box of chocolates - suddenly she couldn’t even remember what kind of chocolate Maggie liked, which was ridiculous, she remembered eating chocolates with Maggie just the week before, and couldn’t even begin to think what kind of chocolate they were -, a romantic dinner - how did those go again? Something to do with candles? Fancy restaurant or cooking at home? Or, well, pretending to cook at home, cooking wasn’t her strong suit -, or something else entirely.

Too many options, and trying to cram twenty years of valentines into a single date wasn’t exactly a good idea. Which was how she ended up with a dozen different bouquets, thirty two cards, two stuffed bears and one stuffed cat that she thought was a bear, fourteen boxes of chocolates, twenty heart balloons with different messages in them, two hundred and seventeen candles - that she luckily stopped lighting before she burnt down the house -, and dinner ordered from four different places. Now she just needed to set everything up before Maggie got there, which should be easy. Probably. Hopefully. Maybe. There was a chance. A small chance. She was screwed. She would probably scare Maggie off like that.

Well, to be fair that was probably her anxieties talking, as Maggie was very much the understanding type. Maggie would probably just try to get her to relax and assure her that she didn’t need to compensate for every single Valentine’s Day she ever missed on that one. Maggie had a way to always make her feel safe and comfortable, and made a point of assuring Alex that she would never judge her. She didn’t know what she did right to deserve Maggie, but whatever it was, she was glad she did, because meeting Maggie was one of the best things to ever happen to her.

Now, she had to tone down this dinner to something a little more manageable. Just because Maggie was understanding that didn’t mean Alex had to scare her with the truly absurd amount of things she had procured.

She picked one of the cards, and stashed the rest in one of the kitchen drawers, one card was more than enough. She had a return receipt for one of the bears and the strange looking cat, so she kept those in their bags and placed them in the closet, and would give Maggie the third one, that she made at Build-a-bear. She took a box of chocolates at random, and stored the rest to give to Kara - her sister was lucky that her alien physiology protected her from high blood sugar, because she never met anyone else more excited to get discounted post-Valentine’s Day chocolate -. She placed the food from the Italian place on the table - Italian food was romantic, right? -, and the other three in the fridge. Then came the candles, she left a couple dozen spread around and blew the others, then placing them at the same kitchen drawer as the cards. Now the only problem was the flowers.

What were the odds of Maggie noticing if she just tossed the extra ones out the window? Maybe she could hide them under the bed, although there was no way to hide the smell. Would there be enough time to burn them in the oven? Probably not, and even if there was, she wasn’t sure what burning so many flowers would even smell like, or for how long would be smell stay. As much as she tried, she couldn’t think of a single way to get rid of the flowers in time. Then again, she managed to get rid of all the other things, so many the excess of flowers wasn’t so bad, if only she could found a way to spread them around to make it seem that it was intentional. It would still look like too much, but less so than her initial plan, so it was a victory.

Some flowers at the table, one bouquet to give to Maggie, some at the kitchen counter, some spread around the floor. There, it was as good as it was going to be, even if it weren’t as good as she wanted it to be. Now, all she had to do was wait for Maggie to come, and try not to panic in the meantime. Or, at least, try not to panic too much.

There were rumors about the court enchantress, the mage who was so obviously unlike any other mage. Apostate, some of the rumors said, as if that word carried any meaning now that the circles were gone. Others claimed that she had undue influence of the empress, either by using magic or perhaps just her charms. The noble’s favorite topic to gossip were the rumors that spread faster, the ones about what happened in the empress’ bedroom, suspicions that the empress had replaced her elven lover with the only thing worse, an unruly mage. Rating: T
Prompt: #100|#055 - dialogue/no dialogue
Word count: 100
Summary: It was better if they didn’t talk.

It was better if they didn’t talk. When they talked, they always ended up hurting each other, and neither of them wanted that, except when they did, but those moments were always followed by guilt. They kept founding each other, as much as they tried to avoid it, like two tidally locked planets who could never escape each other’s gravity. So, for as long as they had together, before remembering all the pain, before allowing their own issues to push them apart, it was better if they didn’t talk. They couldn’t hurt each other if they didn’t talk at all.

She was used to dominating everyone around her, but Ezri refused to submit. Intendant Kira was always surrounded by people who feared her, and would obey her without hesitation, but Ezri was something entirely different, a mixture of pleasing her and defying her. Kira never knew what to make of her, and she liked it that way, even though Kira had no doubt that Ezri only cared about what she could get from Kira. There something thrilling about keeping a lover that refused to submit to her.

Pairing: Teyla Emmagan/Kate Heightmeyer
Rating: T
Prompt: #100|#057 - dream
Word count: 100
Summary: Kate had a bad dream.

Kate fell, but Teyla grabbed her wrist and pulled her back up, then she woke up screaming.

“Kate, did something happen?” Teyla asked her alarmed, having just woke up.

“I thought… I was on the edge and Colonel Sheppard was there, he tried to stop you from saving me, but when I fell you grabbed me.” It was so clearly a dream now, but it had felt real.

“It was just a bad dream like the others had, you are safe now,” she said, hugging her soothingly.

“You are right.” Kate laid back down, relaxing. “I’m safe here with you.”

Title: The Game
Fandom: Dragon Age Inquisition
Pairing: Briala/Celene
Rating: G
Prompt: #100|#058 - game
Word count: 100
Summary: The game came between them.

The game came between them, it would always come between them. For Celene, it was the only life that she knew, it was everything to her even before becoming Empress. For Briala, it was the only way to help her people rise above the position they had. Neither of them could give it up, not then, not ever. The game was too important for that, more important than any relationship, than love. The game came between them, broke them apart, it was unavoidable from the start. And even if they tried to reunite, the game would always come between them.

Title: Shaving
Fandom: Dragon Age Inquisition
Pairing: Sera/Female Trevelyan
Rating: T
Prompt: #100|#059 - naked
Word count: 100
Summary: Shaving wasn’t the hard part, trying to make it spell something was.

Evelyn lifted her leg in the air, trying to get a better angle. If her allies could see her now, completely naked, stretched like a cat, trying to ‘artistically’ shave her privates… This was a terrible idea, she would end up cutting herself and having to pay an embarrassing visit to the healers, but Sera deserved a gift and Evelyn was sure she would love this. Shaving wasn’t the hard part, trying to make it spell something was, and she wasn’t sure the letters were actually readable. It would have to do, her leg was cramping and she gave up.
